Our Expertise
Our core expertise is in web and mobile development. Using Flutter, Firebase, Next.js, and modern headless CMS frameworks, we deliver scalable, high-performance applications. From planning and design through to launch and ongoing support, we provide end-to-end project delivery.
We take a pragmatic MVP-first approach. By focusing on a solid foundation, we ensure projects stay on budget and on time, while creating space to expand with features that respond to real user needs.
Alongside our proven delivery, we also explore emerging interactive technologies including Immersive and interactive media . With support from Media Cymru, Campfire Digital was one of just three Welsh companies selected from a large cohort to receive both R&D and Development funding. This has enabled us to prototype inclusive VR experiences through our Openality project, working closely with SEN schools to ensure accessibility for all.

Together, co-founders Steve and Matthew combine deep technical expertise and creative vision to deliver digital projects that are innovative, user-focused, and future-ready.
Steve Banbury
Co-founder of Campfire Digital UK, Steve is a full stack developer with over 25 years’ experience spanning data systems, education technology, and emerging digital media. His early career focused on data analytics and multi-tier software for the education sector, helping local authorities and schools with setting targets and tracking progress.
In recent years, his work has expanded into brand engagement with a focus on immersive and interactive technologies, continuing to combine reliable engineering with thoughtful design to deliver solutions that are both effective and engaging.
With a creative background alongside technical depth, Steve brings a holistic approach to problem-solving, ensuring software is not only robust and maintainable but also intuitive for users.
Matthew Wright
Founder of Campfire Digital (France) and co-founder of Campfire Digital UK, Matthew brings 20 years of experience in app development and digital innovation. Based near Lyon, he has led projects in mobile, web, and immersive technologies, working with startups and established businesses alike. With a focus on creative problem-solving and user experience, Matthew combines technical expertise with a passion for building forward-thinking digital solutions.
